Product Description:
This item for sale is a new-old-stock 3T "THE" road stem in a size 120 mm that weighs-in at approximately 170 grams. This stem appear to be good quality, as it's forged from an aluminum alloy (AL 6061)...so it should compare favorably to other stems in this price range (including those stems that are CNC machined, which is a manufacturing process that generally does not produce as strong of a stem relative to the forging process).
Additionally (and another nice feature), the angle on this stem is 73 degrees and it is reversible...so if a positive (+) rise is desired, then the angle becomes 107 degrees. This stem also has a detachable face plate (for easy handlebar installation) and the steerer clamp appears fairly well designed with two 5 mm stainless steel allen bolts to anchor the stem to the fork steerer. The result is a nice mid-range threadless stem that is also fairly light. We should note, however, that according to our 3T catalogs, this stem is considered one step below 3T's Racing Team Series, so it should not be considered for the most stressful of applications (i.e., competitive racing). Still, the design/manufacturing features noted herein, including the superior forging (production) process, are good indicators of quality in a threadless stem for non-competitive applications.
With respect to compatibility, the diameter of the steerer clamp is the relatively common 28.6 mm...so will fit any 1 1/8" fork steerer tube (although please note we do not have any 3T steerer dust caps to include with this offering). The handlebar clamp size is 25.8 mm (also a relatively common size that should be compatible with 25.8 mm or 26.0 mm road handlebars).
All of our 3T offerings are in new and unused condition and this particular stem came to us in bulk packaging (but we were also provided some cardboard cut-out/spec sheet and a small 3T pamphlet with installation instructions, etc...and we will include this information with each offering...at least until we run out). We should also note the matte black finish is still very nice...with few cosmetic blemishes.

We apologize to those that feel some of our international shipping charges are too high. We only charge actual shipping rates, but once an order exceeds a certain amount, we hesitate to use the least expensive US Postal Services First Class International service. We feel this way, because this service is not trackable or insurable...so more risk of loss. We prefer the US Postal Services Priority Mail International service for more expensive orders, because this service is trackable at USPS.com and insurable...so less risk of loss. Unfortunately, this service is more expensive, especially for smaller/lighter packages, relative to the First Class International service. We are sorry about these higher shipping costs, but hopefully our notes help to explain why this is the case.
Note to international customers regarding customs...
We also apologize to those that feel their country import taxes, duties and brokerage fees are excessive. As a small US business, we are required by customs' laws to declare each order as a retail sale.
